Who can participate :

  • Directors, creative artists, students, professionals, and filmmakers who have distinct and innovative story ideas.
  • Anyone, whether as an individual or a group, who possesses a passion for the Animation Industry in India and the enthusiasm to produce original content within the country.
Aim :

  • To empower filmmakers with the liberty to present their concepts and vision for the film without constraints.
  • To facilitate connections between creators and industry experts possessing the necessary resources and know-how to realize animated projects.
Parameters to prepare a brief pitch document :

 

The shortlisted pitches will be reviewed by the committee and selected filmmakers' names will be announced during the A&M Summit on 13th September 2023.

  • Concept Overview: A concise summary of the central idea, theme, and message of the short film. What makes it unique or compelling?
  • Target Audience: Identification of the specific demographic or interest group the film aims to appeal to.
  • Genre and Style: Define the genre and artistic style of the film, explaining how it aligns with the content and audience. One or two artwork are needed, more the merry.
  • Character Profiles: Brief descriptions of the main characters, highlighting their personalities, roles, and relationships.
  • Story Arc and Structure: A synopsis that outlines the key plot points, conflicts, climax, and resolution.
  • Visual Aesthetics: Description of the visual style, color scheme, and any special animation techniques or unique design elements.
  • Budget and Timeline: A realistic estimate of the budget and a proposed timeline for development, production, and post-production. - (OPTIONAL)
  • Team Structure and Collaborating Partners: Details of key team members, their roles, and any collaborations with other entities or professionals.
  • Relevance to Current Trends or Social Issues: If applicable, explain how the film relates to current cultural or societal trends or issues.
  • Sample Materials: Provide any visuals, storyboards, or other materials that can help illustrate the concept.
  • Legal and Ethical Considerations: Ensure compliance with intellectual property rights and any relevant legal or ethical standards.
Content Parameters:

  • We want to encourage filmmakers to have freedom while pitching their ideas and vision of the film. We would hope the shorts offer a wide variety, we would like the filmmakers to keep in mind.
  • There should be no excessive blood/gore. There can be intense action, fights, destruction etc but all can be managed without making it bloody.
  • Avid nudity, sexual content and anything that can be considered gory, immoral or affecting social senses. Love and romance can be part of the story.
  • The content shouldn’t go beyond typically 13 pages.
The creativity, originality, feasibility,diversity and market potential of each animation project. The shortlisted projects move on to the pitching stage.
The shortlisted creators are invited to pitch their animation projects to representatives from the 88 pictures & Zebu Animation Studio at the A&M Summit on 12th September 2023.
After each pitch, there will be a feedback and discussion session where 88 pictures & Zebu Animation provide comments and ask questions to gain a better understanding of the project and the creator's vision.
  • Duration: 6-10 minutes. Open to shorter or little longer if the story demands.
  • The studio will help develop the art, animation, music and post and overall execution of the film.
  • Delivery UHD/HDR.
  • Pitch location - 12-13th September 2023, The Animation & More Summit@ The Lalit, Mumbai.
